Driving makes you fat… so ride your bike instead

An article at Fast Company describes Dr. Richard Jackson’s revelation that most of our public health concerns can be attributed to our transportation habits and land use paradigms. Asthma, obesity, auto accidents, and even heat stroke are listed as issues that can be addressed by, one, simply getting out and moving more, and two, having safer built environments in which to do so.

Arlington & Greenways are still working on our new bike plan, so you still have the opportunity to voice your opinion about what you think our city needs to support our pedestrians and cyclists. And, now, the survey is in Spanish!

So tell your government what you want to see in your city, ride your bike, and encourage others to do so! And stay tuned for upcoming Arlington rides!
